Does anyone have experience with these jackets and coats with multiple hidden pockets for your EDC items?  I am intrigued by them, but I can't imagine them not looking weirdly lumpy if loaded up with the items they show.  Still, it is a neat concept.  Here's an example of how their jackets work.

I had a coat similar to that, but you can never store

as much as they claim without looking like this:

Edit: They do, however, help carry small things on your person efficiently.

If you don't want to carry a backpack or purse and only have a few

items to carry, you may find it practical.

I would love to have one of these. Though I agree, I'm not sure how anyone could carry that stuff and not look uhh lumpy.

Imagine hugging someone with all that,

Potential girlfriend I'm about to weird out: "Is that a flashlight in your pocket?"

Me: "Why yes! And also my eye drops, iPod, Blackberry, TicTacs, another iPod, sunglasses, passport, camera + extra memory card, water bottle, bluetooth headset, Apple iPad (omg I love Apple products!), coins, and keys .... and I am also happy to see you :)

ps: I couldn't fit my wallet, can foot the bill? Thanks!"

I can't see where this could go wrong for me :)

Never owned one either, but I watched this review on YouTube a while back.  I think it's practical if the user doesn't go overboard.  If you try to fill every pocket to its max capacity, I'm sure you'd look bloated and be incredibly uncomfortable.

I've seen these on ThinkGeek, but without using one, I'm slightly skeptical. It seems like a great idea, but it may end up making you look like Mr. Creosote.

.... I think it's practical if the user doesn't go overboard. ...

You are talking to a group of EDC'ers, on a forum about EDC'ing. I'm pretty sure we start overboard to begin with. And then, we back it off a little so that we are barely onboard.

I mean, common, we need all this stuff!   :)

That's true. David carries 137 flashlights at a time.

HAHA!!!

We're going to eventually give David a complex about his flashlight addiction.

Hi everyone!

Scott Jordan from SCOTTeVEST here. Almost all of our products have our weight management system which is a special design and fabric used to evenly distribute the added weight from your devices. I wear my SeV products with my full size iPad, iPhone, wallet, keys, dog treats, chapstick, pens, snacks, gum, and sunglasses without looking lumpy or marshmallow-like. Of course, if you put your whole kitchen sink in there you’re going to look bulky, but we designed these products with the idea in mind that people carry a lot of stuff.  These products are full of pockets for your EDC items (Our QUEST Vest has a total of 42 pockets)!   We have an easy 30 day return or exchange policy so try one of our 50 products out and get yourselves some pockets!

Thanks for providing your feedback, Jordan, and welcome to the EDC forums.  Good to see that some suppliers are "listening" to the community.

Thanks for chiming in Scott. I came really, really close to pulling the trigger on one of these after seeing them on ThinkGeek. You are doing a great job putting our concerns to rest. You also appear to be cool as f$&@.

Scott! Welcome aboard!

So very cool to have the MAN in charge of the company here and listening to us! This is great. I hope the OP, Heather, is still following this thread.

And Scott, you sound so chill and fun to hang around.

Dare I say you proved your advertisement was not just...advertisement! I can't believe how much stuff you loaded in your vest. You fit right into EDC!

Now about how I convince a girl I meet that carrying all this stuff - because I can - is a normal thing to do. .

Just great! Now my man purse will become obsolete!

In all seriousness, those vests are pretty sweet!
