My dad started me out on multitools early. A small hammer and a "great neck" brand pliers multitool from AutoZone.

The hammer handle is nested flathead and Phillips head screw drivers if various sizes. The great neck is the usual line up on tools.

I regretfully do not have the old timer he gave me on our first big campout.

My first multitools from 23 years ago. https://imgur.com/gallery/adncx

That hammer multi tool is pretty neat, never seen anything like it.

My first multitool was a Leatherman, but I don't remember what model, in addition to not having it anymore.

This isn't the exact one but I did find a similar one online.

The original 1980's Leatherman PST. Still have it somewhere. I moved up to the original supercool after that, then bought several others over the years. All have remained in great serviceable condition despite hard use.
