I get that they can do finger rolls and magic tricks but is there a point to EDC a coin? Is it worth it to get a coin top?

I'm not sure if a coin is necessary but I do carry one.

Great for deciding what to eat in a restaurant where there are two choices that you just can't pick between.

Or for coin tosses to decide who's turn it is to take out the bin.

I'm curious about this, as well.

I've been looking at everyone's EDC and scrolling through pages.  A coin (typically a 50 cent piece or silver dollar) appears to be fairly common.  Magic tricks aside, what's the purpose of the coin?  Bartering?   Novelty?   It's in so many pocket dumps, there has to be a reason for it.

I don't carry a specific coin since our local currency fits the bill quite nicely, but put me in the camp who fidgets by doing coin rolls. :)
