Hi, I have very little experience with firearms out side of what I picked up in the boy scouts over a decade ago and I am trying to find a gift for my friend who enjoys going to the range. He typically shoots AR's but beyond that I don't know specifics. I was thinking of picking up some combat/shooting gloves. Can anyone recommend a good pair of shooting gloves or suggest any better gift options?

Thanks much!

Mechanix make some excellent gloves, many that work well for shooting.

These are what I use: http://www.mechanix....e-original-grip

Roughly $25

Shooting glasses are also a great gift.

These are what I use: http://www.esseyepro...285_detail.html

Roughly $110

Something less practical, but still a great gift for a firearm fan... I bought one of these for my stepfather last Christmas.

Roughly $55 - $150

What's your budget?

I find that specific model of Mechanix gloves to be a tad bit thicker that what I like when shooting, I prefer the FastFit Mechanix gloves: http://www.mechanix.com/fastfit  plus theyre a tad bit cheaper :)

Also, if they are a fan of a specific brand or model of firearm, there are mats of an "exploded" view of them such as this ar15: https://www.sportsma...xoCqW4QAvD_BwE
