So has anyone encountered this demand "Leave your bag at the counter"? How do you feel about this? Personally I leave the store and never return. Plenty of other businesses that want my money.

The only places I've seen that have this policy is sporting events. They typically claim it is for "space", but we all know it is because of security. Too lazy to check bags, too scared to let patrons protect themselves, and yet, they provide very little protection/security for their patrons. However, I have never seen a company or store do that before. It's weird to hear about since brick and mortar stores are becoming a thing of the past. I too would just walk out and tell them I'll buy from Amazon (or somewhere else) instead.
