Not sure if you're looking for more essentials from the peanut gallery, but I'd want a small knife for utility purposes anywhere I go.

That being said, I'd pack a Spyderco Roadie. It was apparently created to specifically confirm to TSA standards. Also being that's it's under a 3" blade and is a slip joint, should be legal to carry in nearly every country.
