The title maybe confusing  :P . Wife has gone to her parents place for a month as her father fell from the stairs and her mother is in need of additional help. Initial plan was to stay for 2 weeks but now it has extended to one month. So it's been a week since she left and I have started living my bachelor life again. Mostly it's pizza 3 times a week and the house is a mess. I have arranged for a one time cleaning service 2 days before she comes back so that the house looks clean when she comes. It was fun for a week but now I feel bored here. Actually it's one of the reasons I'm here on the forum. I just wanted to share this here, nothing more.

Have you guys experienced this?

Uh, no.

I love it when the family leaves. The house finally gets clean and stays that way. I also thoroughly enjoy cooking.

That said I will eat pizza WHENEVER!  ;)

I feel you brother. For the 1st ten years of my marriage, we spent over half of it in different zip codes. First a hurricane keep me cleaning up my parents' place for almost half a year then my dad got sick, her mom got sick and then my mom needed to some one to take care of her. All this while raising two teenagers. Fortunately, at that time, we were able to have jobs that allowed us some flexible to take care of parents. We're past all that but it was like starting over. I'm not able to fly so I still miss my wife when she goes out west to visit family but a week or two now is nothing compared to what we went through. You do what you have to do to get through, you support each other and you try to keep your love alive through email, text and phone calls and you really really value the time you have together.

I don't smoke in my apartment.

So when my wife went overseas to say farewell to a dying family member - I had all the windows open, feet up with a drink or 12 and watched TV puffing away all day and night - HEAVEN!!! Lots of pizza, Chinese food and booze!

I would say to myself - "she's gone for 2 weeks so I'll smoke for the first week and then air the apartment out for the next".

Then it would be "4 days of airing and the place will be new again - she'll never notice".

It got to "!@#$$ - she's due back tomorrow - turn on all fans - now!!!".

Took her about 3 seconds to smell the smoke when she got back - she just laughed...

Personally, I love being single.  Singleness is an opportunity to spend my time with those in my life that matter the most to me. No, I'm not a lone wolf by nature. I like girls, I communicate with them by means of  http://www.cupid.com/ . But I'm not ready for serous relationship yet. Maybe one day I'll get tired of being single and my love will come along

Being single is the most precious time you have cause it's not gonna last long. It's time when you need to grab this life by the balls and do what you want, without any responsibilities:) You can hang up with friends, browse for your next "victim" on https://www.flirt.com/and overall do whatever you want. So appreciate it, while there is some...

Well I saw this thread get brought back to life via some spam, so I figured Id comment.

I experience this here and there when the wife and baby leave for something and I am stuck here to work. Typically, I drink beer and kinda just surf the net feeling bored and lonely, lol. I might go in the garage and do some woodworking, maybe hang out with my dad. Usually I sleep in way too long and feel bad about wasting a couple of early hours in the day in bed instead of being up and productive.

Although, International Man of Mystery gave me an idea...I need to break out the stogies next time. If only they'd leave during hockey season!
