Where are the fans? Tell me all about it. I think I have decided that Nitecore will be my next light, so give us some feedback and feel free to gush about your Nitecore lights.

Unboxing of my SRT3. It convinced me selector rings are the way to go for lights.

This page with the videos has convinced me I must have a P20 as well.

Thanks fellas. I really think this is my next purchase. I'm looking for a model that is hand held, maybe not quite pocket size but certainly no bigger than fitting mostly in the hand. As powerful as possible, as it'll be used in the bush. Any recommendations?

Agreed. The control ring on the SRT-3 is superb. I love mine!

Left to Right:

  1. SRT-3, running on a 14500 battery
  2. EA4, running on 4 AA Duracell LSD ("Duraloops")
  3. MT21, running on 2 AA Eneloops
  4. P25, running on a Panasonic 18650 IMR

I'm kind of tempted to pick up the SRT-5 and SRT-7.  They're really nice lights.   Of the bunch, the MT21a is the only that cannot tailstand.

The EA4 throws beautifully, and has numerous hidden modes (strobe, S.O.S., beacon, etc.).  People weren't kidding, when they called it a compact spotlight lol.

The MT21a is a shockingly nice little 2AA light that's not a whole lot bigger than a 2AA Mini Maglite, but blows it completely out of the water. It has a wonderful combination of both spot and spill, and two modes (programmable), with the twist of a head.

Maglite 2AA with Terralux 140-lumen LED upgrade module, and Nitecore MT21A

The P25 is in-light rechargeable, via micro USB cable.  Operation via rear, or side switch.  The Blue light in the side switch will blink when the battery is running low.  That's a wonderful thrower, as well, with a nice, deep aluminum reflector.  Really slick light.  It's even built to be weapon-mountable (not that I actually own any weapons, but if you're looking for something like that, this can do it :-)

No complaints, here :-)

Here is an on-going thread on the SRT-3, on EDCF:

Looks like the SRT-5 is on sale on the REI website - and for about twenty bucks less than the smaller SRT-3 :-)

I saw that, David!  I wonder if it'll still be on sale when the dividend gets released in a few weeks...

No idea. I just ordered a CB6. Will be sure to post a brief review and some beam shots, after receiving it :-)

The CB6 arrived (went to pick it up at my local REI store, to save on shipping charges) :-)

Kind of a strange-looking reflector system.  The primary (of the colors) is Blue, but it also does Red, and Green - just not as powerfully.  Activation of the light, is on the tail switch, while the color and mode switching can be found on two individual side switches.  Interesting.  The light has memory mode, and will come back to whatever color/output was used last.

Strobe, Beacon, and S.O.S. hidden modes.

Dang...looks like my mixer needs a thorough and long overdue cleaning :|

Beam shots to follow :-)

I've no idea how powerful this Blue color will appear.  I'll have to wait until I can get it outside, to see how useful it actually is.

C'mon, darkness...

Edit - 16:20 - I just realized - I'm missing the lanyard, spare o-rings, tail cap, and the pocket clip.  All that was included was the holster, the instructions, and the warranty card.  I've just emailed Nitecore to see what they say.

Called REI to explain my situation, thinking they would just ask me to contact Nitecore, directly. I ended up speaking with Justin in Customer Service.  He's going to send a whole new light, to my home, on REI's dime.  He also said I can feel free to keep the original one.  I just received the confirming email, with the no-charge invoice.

Now, that is amazing customer service.

REI - you just earned a life-long customer.
